My Philosophy: "Movement is Medicine"

What style of teaching best describes me?

Embodied. I understand, from my background in dance, gymnastics and hospitality the importance of movement for physical and mental well-being. I also realize how demanding our daily lives, chronic movement patterns and jobs can be on our body. I teach from a “meet the student where they are at” philosophy.

My classes consist of a balance of biomechanically-informed sequences (Krishnamacharya/Anusara School of Yoga), challenge and creativity. I incorporate what I have learned from dance and gymnastics conditioning, with my perspective on watching a diverse range of bodies move into, “an alchemy of movement”. This keeps students engaged, motivated and strong. I take pride in seeing my students progress towards their goals and uncover abilities about themselves they weren't aware of.
